May 2008
It was nice to sort of breathe last month, but here we go
preparing for the next 2 months. God will of course do great
things in our lives and our church as He always does, He is so
faithful. No matter how you serve God here, whether vocals or
instruments, I trust that you’re experiencing the blessings of
being on this worship team. At the risk of sounding “preachy”,
I want to encourage you or remind you to be worshipping at home.
Are you a private worshipper? Is what you do on our stage a part
of your lifestyle throughout the week? We have to spend time praying
throughout the day. We must read and meditate on the Word in mornings,
in the car, while making dinner, mowing the lawn, etc. In other words,
day and night! This is who we are. We are not teasing. We talk with
our friends about God. We train our children all the time about the Lord’s
character and values. We like this whole Christian discipleship “thing”.
We fight the fight of faith. We stay full of Christ’s love and peace and
joy and all the fruits of the Spirit. We aren’t perfect, but we are trying
hard. We are praying for people, and helping people, and serving people,
and loving people. All of this is going on way before we ever step on our
platform. Obviously, then we step up there and give out of who we are, not
just what we do. In Deuteronomy 6:7 God says about His Word and His ways,
“…you shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the
way, when you lie down, and when you rise up…” Our relationship with Jesus
is right now, all the time, everywhere, always, etc. This is who we are!
